Swarms

Please don't kill bees, they are a protected species.  Swarming bees are very unlikely to sting. Swarms in Sussex normally occur from late April until mid July.  If you have a swarm please contact your nearest honeybee swarm co-ordinator on the list - it is best to telephone. If you are unable to contact the co-ordinator please contact a swarm collector directly, obviously only ask one swarm collector to collect your swarm.  You will be asked to supply the exact location of the swarm. Most beekeepers would make a charge for removal of a swarm from your garden depending on travelling distances to cover costs of petrol etc (details of individual charges are beyond the scope of this web page).
