The Sussex Beekeepers Association is for those in East Sussex who keep bees or who would like to start beekeeping.  There are five local divisions,  Brighton and Lewes, Eastbourne, East Grinstead, Hastings and Rother, and High Weald.  Beekeepers in West Sussex are served by our neighbour, the West Sussex Beekeepers Association which has three divisions, Chichester, Worthing, and Wisborough Green.   Beekeepers in the Horsham and Crawley area have their own association known as the Central Sussex Beekeepers Association.

The divisions have meetings which are both social events and help train people in beekeeping.  In spring and summer the meetings tend to be at apiaries, which gives members a chance to handle bees and beehives.  Beekeeping is essentially a practical craft, and it is learnt by doing it!  You need the company of experienced friends, and the divisions provide this.  You never stop learning beekeeping.

All of the Sussex Divisions have their own websites, and this site gives contact details and links to those sites.

This site is continually under development and improvement.  If you are in a division and have information that you would like added please contact us via email.  The intention is that this site will provide information on events planned by the County Association.
